Initial Contact: Letter of Inquiry

 

 


No unsolicited proposals will be considered. However, interested organizations may submit a Letter of Inquiry for the Foundation to consider. We will not accept faxed or emailed letters of inquiry, or inquiries that arrive after the application deadline. In the letter, the Executive Director of the organization should provide in one page:
  • the organization’s mission
  • the purpose for which you seek funding
  • the amount of money you seek from Horizon Foundation and the period of time over which you seek it
  • the other sources of financing you already have or intend to explore
  • in which county or counties where Horizon provides funding will the project will take place
  • contact information, including email address and website if applicable

For the fall 2010 cycle, Letters of Inquiry must be received at our office no later than July 13, 2010 to be considered. The Foundation will invite qualified organizations to submit proposals in mid-August. Full proposals must then be received no later than October 1, 2010.

For the spring 2011 cycle, Letters of Inquiry must be received at our office no later than January 11, 2011 to be considered. The Foundation will invite qualified organizations to submit proposals in mid-February. Full proposals must then be received no later than April 1, 2011.
